ThePreppyMAG Picks: Lilly Pulitzer Site-Wide Sale

Quarantine is hard but Lilly Pulitzer is here to make it just a little bit better. I’m the first one to admit that it is hard to shop right now. I usually shop when there is an occasion to shop for and right now it is hard to know when the next one of those will be. However, with Lilly Pulitzer giving 30% off their entire site, I think I can make an exception. 😉

Happy Shopping!

ThePreppyMAG June Picks

Happy weekend! After all that traveling, I’m finally feeling my Summer self. Not only did I finally get out to the Hamptons this weekend, but my preppy, searsucker-loving self is back to her old self with these month’s picks. Before you get shopping there are a few things you need to know:

1| Stripes are the name of the game in the Summer (as if you couldn’t tell). Each of these pieces are a simple way to look perfectly nautical no matter where your summer travels take you.

2| Speaking of travel, I’ve mentioned multiple times on Instagram throughout my trip how much my leather backpack saved my life while traveling through France. This monogrammed one featured here is on SALE today.

3| As much as I love my Jacks, this Summer I’ve been yearning for more of a heel on workdays, which is why I’ve picked up some of these sensible ones.

A Saturday is best spent shopping, so enjoy!

A Manhattanite’s Guide To Shopping The Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale

Sweater (Lilly Pulitzer- ON SALE) | Jeans (Gap) | Shoes (Guess)

It’s the best time of the year for a preppie! It is the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale!! For those of you who aren’t familiar with this FAMOUS sale it happens twice a year (once right after the winter holidays and again right after labor day) and it includes INCREDIBLE discounts for some of Lilly’s best pieces. From printed dresses to iconic staples, the After Party Sale never disappoints!

This sale is an absolutely BLESSING for all you preppies living in the south and enjoy warm weather all year long, but for those of us up north it isn’t as easy to think about what we want to be wearing 6 months from now. If you are a Lilly lover living in New York or any northern city for that matter (looking at you Boston, Chicago, etc.), here are a few ways you can shop now and enjoy now (or when your package ships in 4 weeks!):

1| Winter Warmers: Lilly has a reputation for the best in all things summer, but it is truly just a ‘summer state of mind.’ If you dig through the site you will absolutely find adorable sweaters that you can wear during the winter months. Yes, there may be a little pop of sunshine like the hot pink elephant on my sweater above or the infamous flamingo sweater featured below, but it is that perfect pop of color you need to get you through the brutal winter temps in NYC, or at least until you escape to Palm Beach for spring break.

2| Simple Staples: So much of what I buy from Lilly Pulitzer these days are just simple staples. While my college days were all about filling my closet with every print of the season, these days I’m focusing more on filling my closet and drawers with quality pieces that will last me a lifetime and that is the epitome of Lilly Pulitzer. I love these pieces because they truly flex into ever season here in the city. While that wrap-around navy romper may look like a summer staple, if you through on a faux fur stole (Under 25!) you have a show-stopping outfit for a night out in the city. Not to mention that I own this wrap-around romper in multiple prints and it is absolute MUST-HAVE. It is by far one of the most flattering pieces in my closet.

3| Spring Break Essentials: Okay, so you can make it pretty far into the winter months with your Lilly After Party Sale purchases, but I’d be a fool not to share some of the pieces I have my eye on as we start day dreaming of spring break adventures. Every year around the end of February, early March I start dreaming of Palm Beach, the Bahamas, etc. and Lilly Pulitzer is always along for the ride on those vacations. What I love most about traveling with Lilly is how easy it makes the packing process. You rarely have to coordinate what skirt goes with what top. All you need to do is choose your favorite few shifts and bathing suit and you’re a done deal.

At this point, I shop this sale like a serious PRO, but there are a few things to know before you get started. For starters, today is the LAST day. The sale will end promptly at 11:59p tonight. Also, if this is your first time shopping the sale, don’t be alarmed when your package takes a few weeks to arrive. Because of the high volume the sale sees, this is completely normal and you will have your Lilly before you know it!

Wishing you all of the luck in shopping the Lilly After Party Sale because we all know that we will need it!

ThePreppyMAG: What You’re Wearing To Feel Like A Girl Boss

Blazer (ThePreppyMAG Boutique) | Turtle Neck (J.Crew) | Jeans (Gap) | Shoes (J.Crew)

Belt (Lilly Pulitzer) | Bag (ThePreppyMAG Boutique)

Woof! Why is it only Tuesday, but it feels like we’ve already worked a whole week?! Getting back to work after a little break is always exhausting, especially when it includes one of the biggest premieres that I’ve EVER worked on (have you checked out Dirty John on Bravo, yet?!)!

I don’t know about you, but whenever I’m feeling a little tired or burnt out, I up my wardrobe a little bit. Getting a little dressed up always makes me feel juuusssttt a little bit better. This is why I’m breaking out this pink velvet blazer over the next few weeks. As Dirty John ramps up, there is no doubt the days will be long so I want to make sure I stay on my A-game. Not to mention this whole blog and boutique I’m running on the side. 🙈

Planning your outfits to be a little extra than you are used to will force you to feel a bit more put together and prepared to take the day on as a total ‘Girl Boss.’ Since I work in a VERY relaxed environment (leggings and sneakers are totally acceptable), a little blazer and some heels (literally any heels, pumps, boots, ANYTHING) does the trick.

What I’m Wearing

Everything about this blazer is amazing. From the GORGEOUS blush pink color to the shawled neckline and cinched sleeves, there is nothing more to love. Unlike most blazers that feel really stiff and restricting, this one is super comfortable and easy to move in. If you are running around your office all day every day, you know this is a NECESSITY.

In terms of sizing, I definitely think this baby is true-to-size. While it isn’t totally flattering when buttoned, it feels a bit roomy when left open.

I loved styling this blush blazer with navy and gold staples and accessories. I always say navy is my neutral, but pink and navy is my absolute favorite color combination. For me, ripped jeans and a stripped turtleneck is a winter staple, so this blazer dresses up and otherwise very comfortable outfit for me. Perfect for those days where you want to feel just a little bit more put together and prepared for the day.

Speaking of the pink and navy color combo, this outfit is made 10X better by pairing ThePreppyMAG’s new velvet navy crossbody bag, ‘What You’re Wearing Everyday.’ As I mentioned, navy is a neutral for me, which is why I’ll be wearing this literally EVERYDAY. I wear my navy bags so much more than my black bags because I’m always in jeans and i love how the blue hues play together and the gold chain and tassel accents are just an added plus! 💯

With the nonstop holiday festivities and the work grind leading up to Christmas, there is no doubt that you’ll need an extra boost, so get to it and invest in this adorable pink blazer!
