Hello, hello! Did anyone else get a chance to soak in the sun this weekend?! I can’t believe it was up to 80-degrees this weekend and now we are back to 40s-50s this week. It’s seriously not OKAY! Regardless, at least we are creeping a little bit closer to spring and I’m actually considering switching out my closet this upcoming weekend (If you live in a tiny apartment like me, you know my pain! 😭).

Even though I’ve been underwater at work and the next few weekends are going to be absolutely CRAZY (stay tuned for a few travels on the horizon!), I’m really making an effort to go out, get drinks with friends and just live life in this amazing city. I know that sounds SO crazy and almost as if I’m an old lady, but when work gets so crazy it is easy to just chill on the couch and and watch TV. I’m not one to get super dressed up for a night out with friends or a date night, so wanted to share my version of getting ‘dressed-up.’ Would love some more inspo in the comments!

What I’m Wearing

Last weekend, Tom and I treated ourselves to a little date night at Raouls in Soho. Raouls is a little hole-in-wall restaurant/bar that is exactly what you expect of an old-school, downtown restaurant. It was originally on our radar because of their famous burger. Believe it or not, they only serve 12 burgers each day, so you have to get there right when they open to get one! Oh, and they only serve them at the bar, which only has about 9 bar stools. Needless to say, the burger DEFINITELY lived up to the hype. It was one of my favorites in NYC. FYI– Tom and I have been on the prowl for the best burger in NYC since he moved here 5 years ago, so we’ve tried a fair amount to rank!

If eating burgers wasn’t too obvious, Tom and I always keep date night super casual! if we’re not at a restaurant at Raouls, we’re hitting up a speakeasy or an equally casual bar. When it comes to what I’m wearing, it is almost always a pair of jeans and a cute top, just like this one!

I’m OBSESSING with this top for two reasons of course. 1) The embroidery is GORGEOUS. I love the color combination of blue, pink, green and black. The mix of dark and light hues is perfect for the spring wardrobe transition. And 2) it is kinda sexy. 😉 Sure, most of you probably just LOLed, but for someone who is always buttoned-up (Tom literally calls me a pilgrim), this transparent, mesh look is a bit out of my comfort zone and I’m absolutely loving it for spring.

Pairing this feminine and tailored top with a black bra, made it look as if it was meant to be worn with nothing underneath. It also set the tone for the accessories that I paired with this outfit. Of course, with a crazy detailed shirt like this one, I wanted to be as simple and classic as possible. Naturally, I chose my black Christian Louboutins and black Chanel bag. I know they are both such a SPLURGE, but I don’t think I wear any two accessories more in my lifetime.
