Happy Monday! After a few crazy weeks and another few coming up, it was so refreshing to stay in the city this weekend and relax. There is nothing better than not setting that alarm clock and spending the day cleaning up the apartment so I can start the week on a nice, clean and organized slate.

If you’re a long-time reader, you know that most of my blogging and personal business (i.e. ThePreppyMAG Boutique, consulting, etc.) is done on the weekends so I don’t get too stressed out during the work week. That being said, weekends tend to be when I start projects that scare the shit out of me. This can be anything from a new content series on the blog, a new spinoff of my business, a new 10+ season binge-watch 😂, etc.

Almost every week, I talk to someone who wants to start a side-hustle of their own but ‘they’re not ready’ and while that may be very, very, very true, I’m here to tell you that you’re wrong. That uneasy feeling you have when you think about that new project is honestly an excuse.

I know, there are so many contributors to this feeling. Maybe you don’t have the money to invest in this project? Maybe you don’t have the time to invest in this project? Maybe you don’t know how to start this project? The excuses can go on and on. However, I can tell you that you can 100% start today. Start by making a plan on how you are going to save the money to invest or research the skills you need to start the project. Today, no matter why you think ‘you’re not ready,’ you can start making a plan to get there.

I think we can all agree that most of my projects and even some of the professional successes that I’ve had, I wasn’t ready to take on. For example, when I started my online boutique, ThePreppyMAG Boutique, in 2017 I had less than 10K Instagram followers and pretty low readership here on the blog. What in the world made me think that I was ready to open up shop?! My drive, my trust in my loyal followers and my plan. I meticulously calculated every move to ensure that I could pull it off and make money doing so.

While my ‘new starts’ happen at the end of the week (#weekends), there is nothing like a fresh new Monday to start something new. Comment below with something that you’ve been wanting to start and you may just get a little surprise from ThePreppyMAG. 😘
