HOW is almost the end of February?! As much as it feels like it was just the start of the New Year, it also feels like it’s been MONTHS since I set my New Year’s resolutions. One of those resolutions was to grow my blog and while the year started out VERY strong (as it often does), February put me in a rut and honestly, it is largely in part due to the fear of being authentic.

This blogger community is FULL of girls who look and act EXACTLY alike. And sometimes, that stereotypical blogger look, feel, tone, etc. can be mis-interpreted for as the formula for success. BUT, it is actually the exact opposite. The more authentic you are to your true self, the more likely you are to standout from the crowd and connect with your audience.

This is definitely easier said than done and while I definitely think I’ve done a good job at staying authentic here on the blog (THANK Y’ALL FOR ACCEPTING MY TRUE SELF), it can be a little harder over on Instagram. With every post, I’m thinking ‘will people double-tap this?,’ ‘do I look ridiculous?,’ ‘will people judge me for this outfit/caption/etc.?,’ but today I’m getting rid of those thoughts and letting my freak-flag fly. So get ready for a lot more talking to the camera 😜, a lot more outfits that feel over-the-top 👠,, and a lot more moments that show my authentic self.

Below are a few bloggers/Instagrammers that I find refreshingly authentic and who inspire me everyday:

1| Color Me Courtney. Not only am I obsessed with Courtney’s bright, bold and colorful style, I love how transparent she is with her followers on Instagram Stories and in her captions. Whether she is going through good times or bad times, she is so honest with her followers and that is something I can appreciate.

2| Grace Atwood.I’ve followed Grace FOREVER, to the point that I feel like I kinda know her. I think that is a tell tale sign of someone being authentic. If you feel like you have a genuine connection with them via their blog/Instagram/etc, that likely means they are conveying their authentic self and rarely (if ever) putting up a facade.

3| The Bucket List Family. I know I’m a little out of this family of influencers’ demographic, but I’m obsessed with their little stories. From the trials and tribulations of their family travels, to their not-so-perfect travel photos that perfectly reflect what it’s like to travel with three kids. While, I can’t relate to these stories yet, I love seeing their unfiltered journey.

Hope you love following these three accounts/blogs/YouTubes, and getting ready to see a lot more real stories over here on ThePreppyMAG.
