Happy Monday! I’m starting this week on an extra happy note because we are fully restocked in this beautiful blouse from ThePreppyMAG Boutique! I’m also excited because I have only 10 more workdays until it is officially the holidays and the end of the year! 🙈 WHERE did all of 2018 go?
The last few weeks before the holidays are both stressful and gleeful! The next few weeks will be chock-full of work getting ahead of the full week we have off between Christmas and New Year’s, but it will also be full of holiday festivities and days acting like a tourist in my own city.
I might be biased, but New York is by far the best city to live in during the holidays! There are unlimited festive options for dinner and drinks and you are immediately welcomed by the Christmas spirit no matter where you are off to.

Here is what I call an outfit that is NYC holiday chic. Of course, if it is New York style, it has to be all black, but the frilly sleeves, ruffles, the bow-details, and gold accents make it a perfect fit for the holidays. To be honest, this is basically my ideal outfit all year long! 🙈
As I’ve adapted to this city, I’ve found myself choosing more simple hues but amping up the details like I have here. Lucky for me, detailed jeans have been on the rise so I can be both simple and true to my preppy and feminine signature style.
I’m absolutely obsessed with this blouse. I THINK it might be my absolute favorite from the entire ThePreppyMAG Boutique 2018 holiday collection (but it is SO hard to pick!). The entire top is completely sheer and polka doted. I style it with a simple black tank underneath, but if you are looking to spice it up a bit try styling it with a black bralette (or even a pink or red to give it a pop of color!). If I didn’t already wear this blouse for my birthday and about a million other times, I think that is what I would wear for New Year’s Eve! So sexy and glamourous.
Even though the temperatures are dropping here in NYC (See here for a fluffy coat to pair with these sheer sleeves), I feel like I’m constantly outside during the holidays. Whether I’m hitting up some of the city’s Christmas markets, going ice skating (my favorite is the Central Park rink!) or taking in the festive sights, I’m a fan of walking and getting the most of this somewhat mild weather before things really get out of hand come January/February.
This means that December is still sunglasses season! I don’t know about you, but I’m never not wearing sunglasses (especially when I head up to Vermont to ski!). Sunny days are always right around the corner! That is why I recently picked up a pair of MVMT sunglasses that are PERFECT for the winter season. I love the black and white tortoise shell print to match all of the black and white I wear throughout the season. Yes, my ski jacket is black and yes, i thought the white would match the snow perfect. Always gotta be thinking about that Insta FLOW.
