Just when we think spring is upon us, comes a massive snowstorm here in NYC. The forecast says it will snow most of the day, so I’m excited to hunker down inside and get some serious work done. Does anyone else love snow days because of how productive they can be, not because you don’t have to go into the office? I actually usually try to go into the office anyway. So peaceful and quiet. ICYMI, I’m currently working on one of our biggest premieres of the year, so things have been jusssssst a little bit busy around here, so I could use a few extra hours of work.

Work aside, I am seriously ITCHING for a little bit of spring in my life. I’m so over these snow storms and winter coats, I need my sunshine and Lilly dresses. While I do want it to warm up ASAP, Spring is actually one of my least favorite seasons because of these transitional weeks. I put together this outfit just fore these few weeks where we might experience some bipolar weather. Enjoy!

What I’m Wearing

The #1 tip for these transitional weeks is layering. Not only will the temperature be all over the place, but offices, stores, coffee shops, etc. won’t be able to get it right either. You’ll want the fexibility to cool off or warm up in case you need to.

In this outfit, I choose my pearl embellished denim jacket to layer. I don’t know about you, but I’m LOVING the denim jacket comeback (did it ever really go away?!). If you’re looking for a new denim jacket or even one to add to your collection, I give this one a10/10. Unlike most denim jackets, this one is comfortable yet fitted and tapered in a flattering way. Also, I’ve seen a TON of different embellished denim jackets that can sometimes be over-the-top, this one is tasteful and appropriate for multiple occasions.

My second favorite part of this outfit are my navy suede booties. I’m actually pretty disappointed that I got these boots so late in the winter season, because they have become my everyday go to. They are a) super comfortable b) they pair perfectly with a basic pair of jeans. Since I wear a jeans on most days, they were definitely worth the investment.

Last but not least, I try to incorporate a little bit more color into my outfits as we approach spring. If you’re a long time reader, you know that by the time summer comes around some may think there is TOO much color going on. 😂   This cashmere pink sweater is one of the comfiest that I have. I have a few cashmere sweaters from a bunch of different brands, but this J.Crew one is definitely the least itchy and flattering. I personally love the long in the back, short in the front cut. Great with a high-waisted pair of jeans!

You may be thinking that this outfit is too warm for an ‘almost spring’ outfit, but that is NYC for ya. Here is to hoping that it warms up in the next few weeks. Happy snow day to all of my fellow manhattanites.
