Warmer weather has me thinking about Lilly and with a few warmer travel plans in the books, it is more than tempting to splurge. I’m loving how Lilly has fully embraced the crop-top trend. It is the classiest way to show some skin and after testing it out last summer, I fully intend on buying at least one (maybe three) more sets.

My picks are inspired by styles that I already LOVE, so I know that if you select one of these for your spring break or even keep it for summer, you can’t go wrong!

Back to reality after a long weekend spent in Stratton, VT! After a spring-like weekend, I’m realizing that my ski days are numbered and it is actually terrifying. How is it almost March?! Wasn’t it JUST Christmas?

Time is flying out of control and even though I’m unbelievably ready for warmer temps, I’m definitely going to miss statement sweaters like these. BUTTT this denim skirt definitely proved to be the most comfortable and versatile so I’m looking pretty forward to wearing it with just about EVERYTHING.

This shoot was back in January, which is why I look freezing. Especially with the impromptu snow flurries. However, with this weekend raising into the 60s, I’m definitely ready to break out the skirts and dresses.

I’ve been searching for the perfect denim skirt since the summer and just couldn’t find one that fit well and didn’t look like the one I owned back in high school. This Madewell skirt was the first one that fit my criteria. It’s a-line style is perfect if you have curvy hips, but is tapered enough not to look bulky. To be honest, my favorite part of this skirt is the little “M” on each button. I know it is for Madewell, but I like to think it is for Marie.

Next, let’s talk about this sweater. This has absolutely been my sweater of the season. It is such a statement no matter how I wear it. Throughout the season, I’ve also paired it with destroyed light wash jeans and flats and black jeans and booties, either way, it is always a crowd pleaser. Unfortunately, Anthropologie is completely sold out of this sweater but REVOLVE has one that looks just like it!

Lastly, I kept accessories pretty simple with this outfit. With ruffles like these you don’t even need a necklace, but of course, I couldn’t even pick one. I layered my go to monogram and pearls. This delicate layering adds just a simple touch of feminine flair.

2017 Travels

IMG_2621

I love the beginning of the year because it is time to plan for all of those PTO days! 2016 was full of fun travels– a few trips to Florida, Cape Cod and even a spontaneous trip to Nashville (pictured above). 2016 was the year I learned how powerful a few days off can really be. Time to free your mind from work and normal NYC craziness is truly a gift.

I’ve already started 2017 with a sprint with three trips in January ?. But, with a fresh batch of PTO days to use, I’m planning for some more exciting adventures! If you have any recommendations for these destinations, please, please, please SHARE!

January:

1| White Sulpher Springs, WV–  I celebrated the New Year at the Greenbrier resort with family. For a girl who definitely should have been born in the south, this resort melted my heart with southern charm and luxurious experiences.

2| Napels, FL— I enjoyed a few days in Florida at the beginning of January with my high school besties. It was the best way to start 2017!

3| Stratton, VT– I make various ski trips each year and so far they have been a blast!

February:

4| Stratton, VT– I’m headed to Stratton TWICE in February. Stay tuned for a travel guide that includes my favorite places to eat, DRINK and shread powder. See here for some VT-inspired fashion.

March:

5| Austin, TX–  I’m headed to SXSW with my agency (360i). I’m overwhelmingly excited to experience this industry event, but may be more excited for the tacos! ?

6| Orlando, FL– I’ll be celebrating my baby sister’s 21st birthday in Walt Disney World! I’m BEYOND pumped!

April:

I guess I’ll have to go to work this month. ?

May:

7| Italy– This will be my first trip to Europe EVER! I’ll be visiting Rome, Venice, Florance, Milan, and Lake Como.

8| Switzerland– While in Lake Como we’ll be hiking the Alps in Switzerland!

June:

9| Hampton Bays, NY– I’ll be missing the official start of summer since I’ll be in Italy, but I’ll make up for it in June, July and August!

10| Virginia- This one is still TBD, but I’ll be celebrating one of my high school friend’s bachelorette!

July:

11| Martha’s Vineyard, MA— After such an amazing time last year during our day trip to the vineyard, Tom and I are hoping to take a long weekend!

August:

12| Maryland– Again, another TBD trip, but I’ll be celebrating that same friend’s wedding!

September:

13| Palm Beach, FL– It is grandpa’s birthday month!

October:

14| Charleston, SC– This destination has been on my list for YEARS and I think this is the year I make the trip. Again, another place that will be perfect for my summer state of mind.

November:

It’s birthday month! This one is special and still in the works. Stay tuned!

December:

15| Stratton, VT– back on the slopes!

Woof! I didn’t realize how many trips I have planned until I started to write the blog post. Hoping to recap each of these experiences here with my recommendations and experiences! Stay tuned!

A Simple & Sweet Valentine’s Day Look

I told you I’d have a more formal Valentine’s Day look up before the big day! Valentine’s Day is tomorrow so if you don’t have your outfit, gifts, and festivities planned, then you are running out of time and better get your sh*t together!!

I’ll be spending the day at work (in some festive outfit, of course!) and then staying in with Tom for a home cooked meal and some snuggling. We honestly eat out SO much here in the city and we know the restaurants are going to be PACKED, so we’re going to cook a meal together instead. In all honesty, this is rarer than a typical date night, so I’m looking forward to it! Follow me on Instagram for a true play by play of the night.

I’ll likely spend Valentine’s Day in a pair of jeans and a cute sweater (like this outfit I shared last week), but if you are headed out for date night this may be a better fit. If you’ve been following for a while, you know I love anything with a bow. Making this dress a perfect addition to my wardrobe.  Actually, after receiving this dress as a gift for Christmas I was kinda sad that I wouldn’t be able to wear it until summer! That is why I just had to find a fix with some layering for Valentine’s Day.

Pink and navy has always been a favorite color combo of mine. I wore it last year for Valentine’s Day, too! It is the perfect way to winterize light pink! All it took was throwing on a chambray button-up and some navy tights and you have a February-appropriate outfit. Another reason why I continue to campaign to make navy a neutral color.

I know, I know, you are definitely SICK of this bag. I’ve featured it here, here, AND here. But, I just can’t get enough. I was searching for the perfect navy bag for such a long time, so now that I have it I can’t put it down. This brings me back to my point earlier, make navy a neutral!
