Bathing Suit Top (Show Me Your Mumu ) | Bathing Suit Bottom (Show Me Your MuMu)

Guys! Nothing is more depressing than a Sunday in the Summer but these Skincare Sundays posts have truly been keeping me going. 🙌 As this was my first week out in the Hamptons, I broke out all of the Summer essentials. From my favorite beach read to the much-needed sunscreen.

Before I get into my thoughts on this Supergoop! product, there are a few things you need to know about my sun care history. Growing up, I was always the first one to tan. This Italian never, ever had a sunburn. Even if I spent hours upon hours in the sun, which I did often. While my mom always sprayed us with sunscreen at the beginning of a beach day, burning was never really a concern with me. Especially compared to my brother and sister who almost ALWAYS ended the day burnt. Flash-forward to my high school years and I started to burn. And I’m not just saying a few summer days here and there. I’m talking, after a few hours I would start to feel the burn. Flash-forward to today and I’m still easily burnt from the sun and have cared more than ever about the sunscreen I’m using on my body.

For starters, I’ve recently realized that a tan isn’t as pretty as I once thought it was. Sure, everyone wants to feel that sun-kissed glow, but being overly tan or burnt is actually kind of embarrassing in today’s day and age. And that means a lot coming from a true long islander who used to be very familiar with the tanning bed.

Now, let’s talk about Supergoop! This is a brand that I’ve had on my radar for the past few years because they are truly revolutionizing the sunscreen industry. You know how you DREAD putting on sunscreen? It’s greasy, uncomfortable and honestly sometimes just annoying to put on. Supergoop!’s products are made so you want to wear them. Similar to your favorite skincare brands.

This weekend I tried out Supergoop! Glow Stick Suncreen. This product is a glow-boosting hydration solution that can be worn as a highlighter, as a hydrator under your makeup or an apply-all sunscreen.

What I Loved: This is a must-have in your summer cosmetic bag. It glides right on under your make-up without leaving you too oily making it perfect for work and play. I don’t usually wear highlighter since I think it will leave me looking too oily but because you put make-up on over this, that is definitely not a concern. Not only have I used it under my make-up for that sun-kissed-looking glow but you better believe you can find this at the ready when I’m poolside or at the beach. Lastly, this product is super hydrating. After I use it, my face always feels super smooth and dewy.

The Watch Outs: While I do love how small and travel-ready this product is, I’m not loving the packaging of this product. Similar to a push-pop (😂), you need to push the stick up from the bottom to reveal more of the stick to use. The problem is that you can control how much you push up at a time and if you push up too much it’s incredibly hard to push it down and get the cap on. I know this seems like a lame ‘watch out,’ but I’ve unfortunately wasted a lot of this product unintentionally because of this.
