Nothing like a bathroom mirror selfie with grandma! Today’s Throwback is inspired by a new show coming to Amazon Prime TOMORROW. It is called The Romanoffs and it is all 8 people who believe themselves to be descendants of the Russian royal family. If my Italian (first) Jewish (last) name didn’t give it away, I’m definitely not of Russian descent but the show brings up themes of family lineage and legacy that all of us can relate to.
As many of you know from my posts, family is one of the most important things in my life. If my close relationship with my siblings and cousins doesn’t speak for itself, the value of family is something that has been passed down from generation to generation. I don’t think there has ever been a doubt in anyone’s mind that family doesn’t come first. However, unlike most stories of family, mine does not focus on where we are from. I think it may be a byproduct of being raised in a multi-religion household and being a true mixture of both of my parents. Instead of passing down specific cultural or religious traditions, my family passes down values. Throughout the years, my parents taught me to have the work ethic of my Grandpa Barry, the loyalty of my Grandpa Phil, the poise of my Grandma Mae and the empathy of my Grandma Pearl.
Just like each individual has a unique story to tell about their personal family lineage, The Romanoffs will be an anthology series. Each episode will feature a unique cast, storyline and location. Kinda like Netflix’s Black Mirror if you are a fan.
This is just a teaser of some of the TV content that I have coming to the blog soon. Until then, it sounds like you have a new show to binge this weekend. Happy streaming!
