Swimsuit (ThePreppyMAG Boutique) | Shorts (J.Crew) | Sunnies (Michael Kors)
Who is ready for next week’s 4th of July pool party?!? Every summer, my parents throw an annual 4th of July pool party and it’s always a blast. From the flowing beverages to the endless seafood, it is truly my favorite day of the entire summer. I don’t know about you, but I’m still trying to figure out how I’ll pull off the annual pool party with the 4th falling on a Wednesday, but I know that this bathing suit will definitely be making an appearance.
Believe it or not, the new building I just moved into in Battery Park actually has a pool (dream come true!), so staying in the city is an actual possibility, but it doesn’t quite compare to my parents’ backyard (#strongisland forever).
What I’m Wearing
Swimsuit (ThePreppyMAG Boutique) | Shorts (J.Crew) | Sunnies (Michael Kors)
This adorable bikini was one of the first pieces I added to ThePreppyMAG Boutique’s summer collection. Between the gingham, pom-pom details and the off-the-shoulder straps, I could literally DIE! What more could you want in a bathing suit in 2018?! The answer is NOTHING.
The details are amazing, but they definitely aren’t fit for a long day at the beach or a day spent tanning. Nobody wants an awkward tan line! That is why it is perfect for a pool party. At my parents’ party I’m always moving in a million directions playing games, helping put out food, making drinks, etc., but never truly taking the time to soak in the sun. That said, some people tan quicker than others, so I definitely recommend slathering on that sunscreen so the ‘farmers tan’ (?) is minimal.
I know bathing suits are hard to shop online for, so I’ll let you in on a little sizing secret. You NEED to size up in this baby. The arm-straps are a bit tighter than you would expect and the pom-pom details make for a waistline that is a bit more restricting than normal. That said, once you size-up (I’m wearing a medium) you will be COMPLETELY fine and fabulous.
