J.Crew Athleisure

Sweater (Ralph Lauren) | Sports Bra (J.Crew) | Leggings (J.Crew) | Sneakers (Nike)

I told you I totally caved and bought this too-perfect-for-words athleisure set! There is nothing I don’t love about this outfit. Firstly, SO comfortable. Leggings are so hit or miss. I always size up in them because the “muffin-top” is a daily struggle, but these babies give in all the right places making them very true-to-size. Secondly, I’m living for this color scheme. You know I consider navy a neutral and this gingham pattern just screams New England prep!

With summer right around the corner and our trip to Italy in only 4 weeks away, ? I’m doing all I can to eat and live healthily. In addition to eating a better diet, I’ve also joined Soul Cycle’s Turn It Up challenge. This is when you commit to completing 10, 20 or 30 classes in 30 days. I’m only shooting for the 10 classes this time, but I’m super excited to see what I’m capable of. I know, I know, Soul Cycle is super expensive, but I SWEAR it is worth it. Leaving class not only do I feel more comfortable in my body, but my mental health is noticeably better. If anything…it is the cheapest NYC therapy session.

This outfit + Soul Cycle has me dreaming of Hamptons weekends, which are only about a month away! As the weather gets warmer and the days get longer, this city gets more and more overwhelming. More distractions, more stimulation, non-stop obligations and commitments. It might just be me, but I’m starting to go stir crazy and I’m ready for the beach!

How are you preparing your mind, body and soul for the upcoming summer months?

Street Style In The West Village

Dress (Whistles) | Bag (Tory Burch) |  Shoes (Lilly Pulitzer) Necklace (Marley Lilly) | Watch (Michael Kors) |  Bracelet (Stella & Dot)

What a week it’s been! Nothing like late nights at the office and jam-packed NYFW schedule to remind you that summer is officially over. It is finally starting to settle in that summer is over and it will definitely hit me when I’m not escaping to the Hamptons this weekend!

Regardless, I’m secretly REALLY excited about chilling out in the city this weekend. I’m dying to leisurely take a walk through the West Village rather than a speed walk that could compete with Olympians.

I’m on a mission to find my favorite brownstone in the West Village (serious motivation, if you ask me!). This quaint brownstone definitely speaks to me with the bright blue shutters and the soft yellow door. These pastels bring everything I love about New England into my hometown of New York City. Do you have any faovrites? I’d love to check them out!

What I’m Wearing:

Dress (Whistles) | Bag (Tory Burch) |  Shoes (Lilly Pulitzer) Necklace (Marley Lilly) | Watch (Michael Kors) |  Bracelet (Stella & Dot)

How absolutely darling is this dress? Navy, white AND lace, need not say any more! I’m having a major lacey moment lately if you haven’t noticed– white, pink and blue, BUT this dress is definitely making it into my favorites.

As you guys know, my style is fairly simple. I’m not a huge stylist, I find my love for fashion within the actual threads of the clothing rather than the mixing and matching. This outfit is a perfect example of that. This intricately detailed dress is beautifully feminine and makes for cool and breezy transition into Fall.

With a dress this exquisite, elaborate accessories are not needed. All you need are a few neutral highlights like a gold monogram and brown leather cross-body to add contrast to the outfit. Not to mention how functional these accessories are for a dress that I know I’m going to be wearing EVERYWHERE as we transition into Fall.

Feelin’ 22!

IMG_1990

As you all know, I spent last weekend in Boston for a few reasons. Sigma Kappa Founders Day, visiting my alma matter, and my 22nd Birthday! It is official, year 21, the best year of my life thus far, is over. Each week fewer and fewer people ask me for my ID and to be honest, I feel old.

I know, I know I’m not, I’m so young, I have so much of life ahead of me. Yes, I’ve heard this over and over again this past week but when you are the first of your family to move out, the first to find a job, the first to start their own business, and the first to have a steady relationship of two years…things get a little real. So, what does this have to do with turning 22? When you 21 you get a free pass to be stupid at the bar, your new to it and you don’t really know how to handle yourself. When you are 21 its okay to make a few career mistakes because you literally just graduated.

Don’t get me wrong, I know I’m being overly dramatic about this birthday and I know I should just listen to some T-Swift and get on with my life but ever since graduation I feel like I’ve been hanging on for dear life, as time and life spirals out of control. In the last six months since graduation I have become the person I thought I would be when I was at least 25. There are pros and cons to this, sometimes I’m super proud of my accomplishments and others I just want to break down and run to the nearest fratty bar.

To be honest, being a blogger makes you aware of how many young women are doing some seriously awesome things in their lives. Whether it be Carly from The College Prepster, who totally inspires me everyday with her organization, patience, and creativity. Melanie from Hampton Ivy, who just started her blog and already has a stellar following (LI PROUD). Or Grace from Stripes and Sequins and BaubleBar who simultaneously builds an phenomenal fashion blog, creates social buzz about everyones favorite start up and rocks my world. When you are surrounded and inspired by utter perfection it is easy to feel a little defeated when things seem messy and unorganized. For all you post-grad prepsters out there, how do you stay focused on your career while not letting life pass you by?
