ICYMI, yesterday we went deep on what my wedding morning looked like and today, I’m sharing a peek at Tom’s morning. Tom and his family stayed at the Andaz Fifth Avenue, which was directly across the street from The New York Public Library and his suite even had a balcony with this SICK view, which was perfect for all of his groomsmen photos.
His day started with breakfast with just his mom, dad, and nonna. It was important to him to have some solo time with them before the craziness of the day and the crowds of our family and friends arrived. With 13 groomsmen, he wanted to ease into the craziness so had the boys arrive in two shifts. Around 11 AM his dad; his best man, Ryan; his cousin Joey; my brother, Philip; and my sister’s boyfriend, Jerid, made their way over to the Andaz to chillout, watch some soccer and relax before it all began. Around 1 PM the rest of the boys arrived already dressed.
Before we get into the groomsmen, let’s talk about Tom’s look. Tom’s is custom-made Joseph Abboud, complete with a velvet jacket. As soon as we knew we’d have a winter wedding, Tom knew he wanted a velvet jacket and I’m so happy we were able to make it happen. I wish there was a photo but the inside tags have our names + wedding date embroidered, which I just find so special. The velvet tux is paired with a velvet bowtie and cufflinks from Tom’s dad, which are made from vintage NYC subway tokens. Not only are these SO cool but they aligned perfectly with our old-world, New York, aesthetic.
Once all of the boys were dressed, they utilized the balcony in Tom’s suite to take some group and individual photos. This is also when Tom gave his groomsmen their gifts, which were Timex watches and a lion golf club cover. A Timex because Tom is a HUGE watch aficionado and Timex are known to last forever, just like his relationship with his groomsmen. And the lion golf club cover symbolized the two lion statues at the front of the library.
Once the photos were over, Tom headed over to meet me at the Palace for our first look, which you’ll get a peek at tomorrow!
Fantastic article! The insights you shared really resonate with me. It reminded me of illicium london, they doing great on mens fashion accessories and posting really helpful contents too. Keep up the great work!
