The temps are dropping (kinda š ) and I’m officially feeling those Fall vibes here in NYC.Ā After traveling non-stop over the Summer, Fall is such a sweet season (and I’m not just talking about all of the pumpkin and apple seasonal treats). Below are a few of my favorite things to do each Fall in NYC as well as a few new experiences (and treats) that I’ve had my eye on. I’m on the prowl to try all 10 by the end of the season, who’s with me?
Magnolia Bakery’s Pumpkin Gingersnap Banana Pudding. If you haven’t tasted Magnolia’s famous banana pudding you haven’t lived (š¤¤). I’ve never tried any of their seasonal flavors, but I may just have to go out on a limb and try this one.
See No More. If you are a Gossip Girl stan like I am, you probably ran to Sleep No More circa 2013. That was before I even turned 21 š! This is such a fun and unique experience and P-E-R-F-E-C-T for Halloween! Even though I’ve been, I’d love to go again.
The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze. This one is a little outside of the city, but just a hop, skip and a jump.Ā I’ve been wanting to go to this event out in the Hudson Valley for YEARS and I’m finally getting to go this upcoming weekend. The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze is essentially an incredibleĀ outdoor museum of pumpkin art.
Fall Foliage in Central Park.Ā It’s still a little early to see the leaves start turning, but any day now (usually closer to November), the lush trees of Central Park will be a beautiful mural of reds, oranges and yellows. I love getting lost in the park with my camera.Ā It’s one of the only times throughout the year that I shoot in Central Park.
Ā Beer & Pretzels at The Standard Biergarten. To be honest, I usually hate the Standard Biergarten (it can be crowded and full of grown-up (?) Frat boyz), but I’ll always hit it up once or twice in the Fall because of the undeniableĀ Oktoberfest vibes.
Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade. This is one of my favorite events of the YEAR and now that I have little Duncan, I’m even more excited to attend and participate. Every year the dogs of NYC dress up and make their way to Tompkins Square Park. I love seeing how creative everyone gets and how adorable each pooch is.
Friendsgiving.Ā This is a seasonal favorite of mine! Once November hits, I love filling my weekends with Friendsgiving with my different friend groups throughout the city. I always host one for my Sigma Kappa sisters at my apartment andĀ it has become my favorite way to kickoff the holiday season.
Milk Bar’s Pie Soft Serve.Ā I actually already tried this one š and it is SO worth it. I’m notĀ a huge pie person (even on Thanksgiving) but put it in ice cream form and I’m IN LOVE. If you love the taste of brown sugar and butter, you’ll be obsessed.
Halloween Movie Night. My Fall weekends already look a little crazed, so some planned relaxation is sounding REALLY good right about now. This weekend, I’m hoping to curate the perfect list of Halloween movies, get one of those bags of assorted Halloween candy and have myself A NIGHT.
The Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Every Fall since I’ve been a sophomore in college, I’ve participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. For context, the Alzheimer’s Foundation is Sigma Kappa’s national philanthropy so it’s always had a special place in my heart. In addition to being an INCREDIBLE cause that has impacted so many of my sisters and friends, it hasĀ also become synonyms with Fall. If you are interested, you can donate to my team here.
As I mentioned, my Fall already looks BOOKED, but I’m hoping to check these off my list before Thanksgiving. Who’s with me?!
