Happy FRIDAY! I’m so freaking excited to share this new content series with you. If you have ever had a conversation with me, you know how obsessed I am with television. Not only do I work in the entertainment industry full-time, I’m constantly watching upwards of 10 different shows at once. Weekends are really when I catch-up on all of my favorite shows, so thought I could help jumpstart your weekend binge queue with a few recommendations.
Below are three (so hard to limit it!) shows that are absolute must-watches right now.
1| ALL of the Fyre Festival Documentaries. If you haven’t already watched, you’re late to the game. Both the Hulu (Fyre Fraud) and Netflix (Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened) documentaries are well-worth your time. They are as much educational as they are entertaining as they investigate one of the biggest cons of generation. A few things to keep in mind as you decide, which to watch first…1. the Netflix version is better produced and has more footage from the failed festival. This is because the documentary itself was produced in partnership with Jerry Media, the social media agency involved in the festival itself. 2. Billy McFarland, the con-artist behind the entire festival, is in the Hulu version. While he is 100% a fake/liar/horrible person, it’s interesting to hear about the situation from the source. Watch to contribute to awkward office water cooler conversation.
2| Grace & Frankie Season 5. My favorite ladies are BACK! Grace & Frankie is such an easy, happy-gp-lucky show to watch. I can seriously watch seasons at a time without even realizing it. I love putting it on in the background while I’m working or doing chores around the house because it is absolutely hilarious. If you are unfamiliar with the series, it stars Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin as two women with completely opposite personalities who discover that their husbands have been in love with each other for decades. While hilarious, the show also touches on the magic that is female friendship and the unexpected trial and tribulations of post-menopausal women. Watch when you are looking for a pick-me-up.
3| You. I know, I’m late to the game here, but OMG. You, which originally aired on Lifetime this past fall, has made it’s Netflix debut and taking the world by storm. It stars Penn Badgley (Dan Humphrey for those Gossip Girl fans out there) and brings viewers on the jaw-dropping journey of an obsessive stalker. Joe (Penn/Dan) meets Guinevere Beck in the book store that he manages and uses social media to track her every move and spends WAY too much time right outside of her NYC brownstone, which doesn’t have blinds BTW making it very unrealistic. I haven’t finished the series just yet, but already sucked in and dying to know how it ends. Watch with your significant other/friends. It is way too creepy to watch alone.
Surprisingly, these are all Netflix/streaming related this week, but I’m actually very much a fan of good ole cable and broadcast, so you’ll definitely see a good mix of recommendations in the future. I would love to know if this is a topic that you guys are interested in reading about, so please leave a comment below with your thoughts!
I’m not really my taste in television and television series! But I heard that you deserve!
I’m loving a lot of stuff on the cookery channels at the minute. But I really love having a look on Netflix for good shows and docs too 🙂
I have seen all of these shows and they are so good! I have Netflix so I have only seen the Fyre documentary made by them, I still thought it was brilliant through, even if they didn’t have testimonies from McFarland. “You” is a brilliant series, does keep you in front of the TV until the last episode.
I am just going to watch the Fyre Festival Documentaries on netflix now. Thanks for sharing
This sounds like a great selection. I just started binge watching Netflix again. It is such a great way to destress and unwind for a little while!
OMG!! I watched number 3. It’s actually a pretty good tv show. Kinda creepy but good. Need to watch the other 2 on the list.

I haven’t heard of Grace & Frankie. I think I would like to see it.
Ok, so I had no idea there was a FYRE documentary on Hulu too! I need to watch that. Already finished Grace and Frankie. LOVED it! And I started You the other day 🙂
Great suggestions to watch! I think each is worth the attention!
I have not had much time for television / cable watching. But when I do I want to see Bird Box.
I’ve been wanting to watch YOU, because I see it every where. I think it will be something my husband and I can watch together. Also, I love your slippers lol, poop emojis are big in this house.
Love me some Netflix and my cooking shows. Although with a toddler it’s a bit hard to watch.
I have seen almost all of them and I must say they all were amazing! Glad to know I ain’t the only crazy one for Netflix!
You just made me want to tune into the Fyre series. It does sound worth checking out.
This makes me think that as a serie lover I need netflix ! ahah Thanks for sharing !
You is soooo good isnt it?! That last episode of season 1 … im speechless!
sounds like a great list to watch on the weekend. It’s freezing in MN right now, can’t really go outside without it being dangerous, so I’ll definitely have some down time to watch ; )
I just heard about that Frye documentary. I’m curious to know what it’s all about and see it!!!
I have just watched Fyre and I was on the edge of my seat all the time. I can’t believe the amount of money that people were rob and how everything unfolded.
Grace and Frankie 5th season it’s my favorite! Love that pair! So much fun in beautiful La Jolla, CA!
I have not yet watched the Fyre festival documentaries and realize I need to! There are so many good options and then when it’s time to actually sit down and watch I forget all of these. Bookmarking!
I’m all for crime drama and am loving the new True Detective series on HBO. You should check it out if you like that genre.
