I’m BAAAACCCKKKK! What a summer! Remember when I wrote about not stressing the stress of summer?! Well I think I went a little overboard and just abandoned anything that was making me feel a little overwhelmed. Now that weekend traveling is slowing down a bit and the crazinesses off summer has eased, I’m back to blogging and have so much exciting content lined up for ya’ll.

What I’m Wearing

I know it is only September, but this week’s rainy and chilly weather is exactly what I needed to accept that Fall is upon us and satin, leather and suede will be filling our wardrobes and feeds soon enough!
First things first, let’s talk about the true winner of this outfit– this burgundy satin bomber. As soon as I laid my eyes on this baby at the new Banana Republic Factory store in Midtown, I knew I HAD to have it. Not only is the color striking and perfect for Fall, I’m loving the satin fabric that really adds texture to the ensemble. While this outfit is definitely a bit more casual, I can also see myself grabbing this jacket on more formal occasions. Just imagine an all-navy dress (only $15!) with this jacket to spice it up a bit.
My second favorite part of this outfit is the burgundy and white leather stripe that goes down the outer seam of my Joe Jeans. I’ve been on the lookout for some detailed jeans that aren’t too over-the-top and this pair was just PERFECT. Especially since I just bought this jacket! That said, I had do everything in my power to not buy this pair, this pair (under $100!) AND this pair. However, the pair I choose was the perfect choice. I was a littler nervous that they’d be restricting, but they are super comfortable and match my Fall wardrobe perfectly.
Last, but not least, my Hermes belt! I actually bought this belt back in January, but haven’t mustered up the courage to wear it out in the wild. Is anyone else super self conscious of wearing overly-overt designer labels out and about in NYC? As much as I LOVE my brands, I never want to feel too ostentatious at work or be somewhat of a target?! Maybe I’m just paranoid, but now that I’ve worn it once, I can’t stop wearing it. I’ve worn it with super simple ensembles and more complicated ones like this one and it is definitely the cherry on top of a urban-chic outfit!
