We are four days out from the long weekend and I’m already checking the snow report every chance I get. I can’t believe this will already be the third time on the mountain this season and the excitement is just the same. I think I love it so much because it is a hobby? sport? that both Tom and I enjoy and are good at. So when we hit the slopes it really doubles as date that lasts a whole weekend!
After visiting Vermont for so many years and now having a little bit of experience skiing out west, I think I’ve finally mastered the packing list. The #1 watch out is that you really don’t need that much! For years, I would pack huge suitcases with everything from sweater dresses to different coats that match each outfit, but I’ve learned that all you want when you come off the mountain is comfort. So when you are packing that bag (assuming that you already know what you’ll need for your time on the mountain), all you need are your favorite sweaters and leggings and you are set.
If you are worried about being under dressed. DON’T! Seriously, ski resorts are very casual and simple. Most people will likely be hitting up the bars in their ski attire, so anything beyond an ugly pair of ski boots and puffy parka is basically runway material.
Here are a few of my picks, but be sure to follow on Instagram to see what I wear this weekend up in Stratton, Vermont.
I am hoping to do a ski trip this year so I will be using these tips!
I am so ready for ski season! We have a trip booked in February and I have all the cozy things ready to be packed in my mind haha!

I have never been on a ski trip myself (me and cold do not get along, I am a southern girl) but these tips are great. I am always down for a cute sweater, scarf, and leggings!
I’ve never been skiing! But these looks like great picks for a warm, fun weekend!
If I ever go on a ski trip, I’ll definitely use these tips :-). I always tend to pack too much in case we got stuck somewhere.
I like these suggestions, especially water resistant boots. No body wants to spend the whole trip complaining about wet boots and cold feet. Thank you for sharing 🙂
Always wanted to go skiing. Whenever I do, I’ll be sure to reference this post!
Please do! I hope you can get on the mountain soon!
These are awesome tips!! Makes me want to hit the slopes asap!
This is an awesome post and so informative thank you!
This is something I totally want to do. I actually like those boots a whole lot! Cute.
