Happy 2017, everyone! I know I’ve been a little MIA lately, but I was busy hustling towards my 2016 goals. And after a seriously CRAZY 2016, I’m kind of at a loss for my 2017 resolutions. Yesterday, I was asked about a million times in which I answered, I HAVE NO IDEA!

In 2016, I promised myself that I wouldn’t change who I am and I’m happy to say that I definitely fulfilled this resolution. Not once did I budge on my personal point of view or change for someone or something else, even when 2016 tempted me with the exorbitant amount of public opinion and judgment.

However, It has never been very “me” to be at a loss for a goal and it making me think that change may not be so bad after all. In 2016 I worked my a$$ off. I thought I worked a lot in 2015, but 2016 was seriously unreal. Countless nights at the office, thousands of hours hunched over my computer, jam-packed days that included meetings, photo shoots, and styling sessions, without ever missing one family or friend obligation. I would lay in bed with a racing mind, thinking what do I need to do next. This led to a lot of tears, overwhelmed weeks, and a burnt-out brain. There was even a month where every day at 10p my eyes would go bloodshot and it would look like I was crying, but wasn’t!

This burnout is something I’ve been struggling with FOR YEARS. I still have flashbacks to my high school days where I was non-stop 20 hours straight with AP classes, cheerleading practice, dance classes, and homework.

This realization got me thinking that sometimes change might not be so bad. Instead of hustling till my eyes fall out, I’m deciding to take an hour to myself. Whether I spend this time going to a Soul Cycle class, reading a book, cooking dinner or catching up on my favorite TV show, I’m hoping I’ll start to feel a bit more alive.

This is definitely a terrifying feeling for someone who has always been a go-getter, but I’m hoping that this little change will give me further motivation to go get the success I’ve been chasing.

What are your 2017 resolutions? Would love to read some inspiration in the comments!
