Back to that NYC grind and I’m officially missing New England! As much as I love New York, it’s impossible not to miss the clean, fresh, and charming New England lifestyle. Just as I felt when I visited Plam Beach a few months ago, I return to New York inspired.

They say NYC is one of the most inspiring cities and I definitely agree, but for me, the most impactful inspiration is found in unexpected places. Yes, in New York I’m inspired by that NYC hustle, the creativity on every corner, and surplus of opportunity. But in New England, you have a new level of inspiration. In New England, I’m inspired by that small-town feel, the gratitude of a seasonal business owner, and the authentic kindness.

Living in New York for just over two years now, I find myself numb to those who don’t say thank you or look you in the eye when you’re talking. In New England, people go out of their way to make you feel at home, give you directions without even asking, and strike up a conversation just to get to know you.

This inspiration I find to be MUCH more meaningful than what New York offers. Anyone with drive can figure out how to turn lemons into lemonade, but not everyone can do it with a humble smile.

This is why it is so important that you find time to travel, because you never know where you’ll find the inspiration you’ve been missing. Especially with demanding New York City jobs, I understand how hard it is to take a full week or even a few days to explore somewhere new. That somewhere can be a short drive away or a 10-hour plane ride, either way, I promise you’ll leave feeling inspired.
