Valentine’s Day in NYC was sunny by FREEZING! I can’t believe I actually took my jacket off in the middle of Union Square without freezing to death.

Even though it was super cold, I couldn’t not be festive with a pop of pink and a slight doily look! I love Valentine’s Day because I can wear massive amounts of pink and lace and it is somewhat more acceptable than usual. That said, I choose my favorite combo– navy, pink, & white. Starting with a all-navy base I layered on festive pieces with a Anthropologie lace vest and a pop of pink in my purse.

Since it was so cold I had to wear cords rather than Jeans because they are a little thicker and warmer. This reminded me of my Boston days where I had cords in every color because it was always freezing and I was walking outside, most of the time. My one outfit regret is not accessorizing with some scarves and gloves. Hopefully this is the end of the cold in NYC.

Despite having to work on Valentine’s Day, Tom and I actually had a great day together. We woke up early and grabbed brunch at Barbounia and then spent the day sipping on Mimosas at Florian. Florian offers strawberry, peach, raspberry and orange mimosas….best things in the world. Brunch, Mimosas, and Live Tweeting– what more could I ask for?

How did you spend your Valentine’s Day?
