If you know me or read my blog, you’ll quickly come to realize that I adore timeless fashion. I am a huge believer in investing in quality pieces for your closet so you cannot only wear them time after time, but also so you save money in the long run.

When I think timeless fashion I think of brands such as J.Crew, Ralph Lauren, and Tory Burch. Style icon wise I think of women like Olivia Palermo, Audrey Hepburn, and Jackie O. I think blazers, gold jewelry, Sperry Topsiders, a great pair of denim, some simple ballet flats, etc.

Why do I feel so deeply about timeless fashion? I don’t have to think “can I wear this next year? Next season? Ten years from now?” because I know if it is a staple item. This is why I never have an issue with investing in certain clothing pieces. Not only will I save money from not having to replace the items, but also I can wear them when I’m 90 years old.

Below I show you some examples of staple items I believe everyone should have in their closet. Having some simple items like these make it easy to mix and match to create tons of outfits.

Even if this isn’t exactly your style, at least take away that investing in staple items for your type of look is a great idea. When you buy low quality, you’ll end up having to replace it sooner or later. Why not just spend the money in something that won’t let you down.
